6)     A 83.7g sample of nickel absorbs 483 J of energy when the temperature increases from     13.8 oC to 26.8 oC. What is the specific heat of nickel?

7)      Given that the specific heat of water is 4.184 J/g oC find the amount of energy in joules required to raise the temperature of 35.2 g of water from 27.2°C to 31.5°C.

8)     Given that the specific heat of water is 4.184 J/g oC find the amount of energy in joules required to raise the temperature of 9.4 g of water from 26.3°C to 29.1°C.

9)     Given that the specific heat of water is 4.184 J/g oC find the amount of energy in joules required to raise the temperature of 17.1 g of water from 29.4°C to 35.8°C.

10)  Given that the specific heat of water is 4.184 J/g oC find the amount of energy in joules required to raise the temperature of 24.8 g of water from 28.8°C to 31.9°C.

11)  Given that the specific heat of water is 4.184 J/g oC find the amount of energy in joules required to raise the temperature of 3.1 g of water from 26.9°C to 30.7°C.

12)  What is the specific heat of a substance that absorbs 2.5 x 103 joules of heat when a sample of  1.0 x 104 g of the substance increases in temperature from 10.0C to 70.0C?

13)  A 1.0 kg sample of metal with a specific heat of 0.50 KJ/Kg oC is heated to 100.0C and then placed in a  50.0 g sample of water at 20.0C.  What is the final temperature of the metal and the water?

14)  A 2.8 kg sample of a metal with a specific heat of 0.43KJ/Kg oC is heated to 100.0C then placed in a 50.0 g sample of water at 30.0C.  What is the final temperature of the metal and the water?
